Members of RES POLIS want to contribute to more active participation of youth in society, by their activism and commitment. RES POLIS has 20 members, young people between 19 and 29 years old. MISSION:

RES POLIS wants crucial changes in society by strengthening of the influence of youth policy. By organizing non-formal educations and active participation of young people, we improve their individual skills. As a result, society will have self-conscious, initiative young people, capable of changing themselves, their environment and whole society.

OBJECTIVES:

The motivation of the citizens, development of cultural, social, sporting and academic awareness, education of youth, youth policy, problems and needs of young people, international cooperation and mobility of young people, ecology and sustainable development.

About The Project

Project goal

The main goal of this project is to include economically disadvantaged youngsters in social and economic process through training course of art crafts. In that way they will be to activate and use their creative potentials so they could find a way to overcome their economical and social problems. It means that participation in this TC will bring them useful skills and techniques as well as an opportunity for starting their own entrepreneurship, in other words to provide them self employment.

Idea of the project

The idea of the project is focusing on young people with social and economical problems. By that the organisers mean young people with a low standard of living, low income, dependence on social welfare system; in long-term unemployment or poverty, as much as youngsters from broken families. We want to make a contribution to development of socially and economically independent youth as much as satisfied individuals.

Our project idea will be realized through Training course (TC) using methods of non-formal education (creative workshops, field work, exchange of experiences, presentations, cooperation between team members, etc.). Selected participants will take part in various well designed, structured and very interesting workshops which will be held by talented craftsmen. Among other things participants will have opportunity to learn to work with clay, recycled glass and wattle which will result with handmade crafts and souvenirs.

Afterwards participants will have a chance to implement gained knowledge and skills from this TC which can be an initiative and a great opportunity for self employment. As a result of a TC every participant will get a catalog of their own handcrafts which they could use as a promotional material of their work in their local communities. In this way, project will provide prolonged effects in their lives, that is to say, a chance to apply skills and knowledge in solving some of the existential problems.

OBJECTIVES:
This project is working on:
•encouraging and stimulating economically and socially disadvantaged youngsters for active participation in solving their existential problems,
•fostering creative ideas for entrepreneurship as a way to overcome unemployment
•using non formal education methods in order to help youngsters to develop their own potentials
•inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities,
•promotion of “sustainable art” by using recycled materials increasing awareness about ecology,
•transnational mobility and participation of disadvantaged young people

Target group

Our target group will be young people from 18 – 30 years, directly influenced by problem of unemployment, that’s are: young people with limited social skills, young people from broken families, young people with a low standard of living, low income, dependence on social welfare system; in long-term unemployment or poverty.

Purpose

During the years of our work with young people we have recognized few important problems in our society. One of the main problems that we are focusing on in this project is offering a possible solution for unemployment of young people with fewer opportunities. Trough participation in project activities youngsters will get knowledge, skills and ideas how to overcome some of their existential problems.

Activities
• Presentation of YIA program,
• Presentation of countries involved in project and demonstration of cultural heritage ,
• Learning different methods and techniques for creative work with clay, recycled glass and wattle, making a handcrafts and souvenirs of it,
• Creating catalogue for every participants of their workshops products (art handcrafts and souvenirs ) as a promotion material for potential entrepreneurship,
• Organizing exhibition
• Study visit to local NGO’s and Institutions that are working with our target group
• Follow up – creating proposals for YIA project.

Working language:
English – all participants should be able to communicate using English language.

We are looking partners from countries with heaviest economic situations preferably from
Greece, Spain, Portugal, FYR Macedonia, Albania, BiH, Kosovo under UNSC
Resolution 1244/1999, Montenegro, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine or Russia.
– Interested participants for the topic of the training course;
– Participants who are working with project target group;
– Young people who are interested in “Youth in Action” program.

Funding:
100% for accommodation and food will be covered and 70% of travel cost will be reimbursed after receiving original receipts.
