Short description of the idea

Providing opportunities for minority young people most actively involved in youth organisations and in youth work to develop their leadership and communication skills became one of the main way for them to participate in society and to practice and exercise democratic power sharing.

Benefits of young people’s active participation are numerous: having an impact on things which are important for young people, learning new skills and capacities, expressing one’s own creativity and interests, working in groups of peers who share common perspectives, shaping self-responsibility together with responsibility for local community, and lots more

This training is widening the participants’ horizons.
Well trained, competent young minority leaders who come back to their local level can be a very important resource for the development and concrete work of their organization. This training course aims to enable minority young people actively involved in the running of youth structures to develop their attitudes, improve their skills and receive additional information and knowledge in order to manage youth organization in a democratic, efficient and effective manner.

The main theme of the training course well be:
 Youth work;
 Active participation;
 Democracy and youth;
 Human rights;
 Citizenship;
 Civil society

Methodology

The method we will use is ‘learning by experience’. Participants will participate in activities related to leadership, communication, cooperation, decision-making, creative problem solving, group dynamics, intercultural learning, using feedback constructively, handling resistance and conflicts, and mentoring minority youth. The training course will have 4 different parts including personal development, workshop facilitation, tools and methods, action planning and closing. Also the program will be consisted by developing new ideas for projects that can be applied under YiA Programme

Financial conditions

No participation fee! The organizer will provide board, lodging and program costs during entire training course. Also we will cover 70% of your travel costs.

Partner Organization

All Programme countries and Neighboring partner countries are eligible, (2-3 participants) from each promoter are needed.
