Tunisia and EuroMed Youth Programme IV

The first Tunisian training session on the Euromed Youth Programme IV took place on the 21st and the 22nd of September 2011 and gathered 60 people representing 57 Tunisian Youth NGOs.

This two day session was aimed to describe to the managers or active members of associations and institutions, the objectives and actions of the Euromed Youth Programme IV, and to train them on Project Management and on intercultural issues in the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
Experts and trainers on educational content, procedures and communication from the RCBS Team (Regional Capacity Building and Support Unit for the EuroMed Youth Programme IV) have supervised the training together with some Tunisian multipliers and the Head of Tunisian Euromed Youth, Mohsen Hakiri.

PROJECTS ASSESSMENT

A total of 12 projects have been submitted in Tunisia that was among the four countries (Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia and Jordan) involved by the first deadline of June 14, 2011. The assessment is still under finalization by the evaluation committee of the Euromed Unit concerned.

Focus on 2012 Activities in Tunisia

This meeting has also been very beneficial for SALTO Youth Euromed since it allowed discussions with the Euromed Youth Unit and the agreement of cooperation for the organization of two main activities in 2012. One is a Long Term Training Course called “Go Green” dealing with Sport and Sustainable development where the Salto EECA will also be involved, the other one is a study visit designed for raising awareness on Youth in action European youth NGOS’ project officers of the youth reality work in Tunisia after the Arab Spring.
